New Window Treatments!

I've always had a difficult time with window treatments... when I first bought my house, I tried several store bought curtains and always ended up returning them.  I like the look of roman shades, but didn't actually need a whole shade because we have blinds.  I found fabric that I really liked and my husband dreamed up these simple valances that were so easy to make!  The best part- I didn't have to use curtain rods.  We used flat head thumb tacks and painted them black to blend in.
